    Spatial design

Spatial design broadly includes a variety of objects, such as landscapes, buildings, interiors and furniture. These are not single designs, but combinations of several elements. Architectural structures and interiors have recently been added to the scope of design patents, and protection of spatial design involves a variety of laws, including copyright, trademark, design patents and the Unfair Competition Prevention Act. In addition, while we traditionally focused on design in real space, recently, spatial design in virtual space has drawn attention, such as metaverse and digital twins.

Our legal services include, for example, (1) drafting and reviewing contracts related to each activity, (2) labor issues, (3) handling infringement, (4) handling claims by third parties, (5) legal advice on rights protection, and (6) assistance in obtaining rights such as trademark and design patents. We provide various support for the activities of related parties for both of individuals and companies.
